Training and Installation
Training for your new POS system is just as important as the decision you’ve made to install it. Acquiring your new POS system can be a significant undertaking, and will have a major impact on your day-to-day operations. Our trainers know how to make this transition easy. Training provides you with immediate and effective use of the system, saves you time wasted in trial and error learning, and yields a fast return on your investment.
Installation
Prior to coming to your site, ARBA works with you closely to prepare for training and installation. Equipment is configured, register screens are designed and built to suit your needs, a schedule for register training and system training for management is established, PC based payment processing solutions are set up, and customization for payroll deductions or accounts receivables is performed based on the requirements we jointly define with you. Once on-site ARBA unpacks, sets up and tests your equipment. Your system is completely installed before we leave.
Training
We begin with system training for management, which includes building departments and vendor information, and learning the fundamentals of inventory items. Bar code labels are produced for those items. Preparations are made for cash register training, including cashier or volunteer number entry, establishment of sales tax, and creation of pole display and receipt messages.
Register training is done in small groups, with a combination of lecture and hands-on work. The registers are set up in training mode in a location accommodating a maximum class of ten to fourteen. Training booklets are provided, and the curriculum focuses on routine sales transactions, traditional payment methods, scanning, and non-scannable sales.
After register training is completed, we resume with management training as the employee and customer files are built. Inventory is returned to and expanded on. Drawing on our experience, our trainers assist you in organizing your inventory. Purchasing and receiving are introduced. We also help organize and plan the order in which you’ll build your inventory files. The number of days required for training and installation is based on the size of your system (quantity of hardware, number of retail locations, type of network).
